5 Tips for Getting a Reliable Taxi in Bournemouth at Night
Bournemouth town centre on a weekend night is busy with taxis - but not all of them are licenced and competition for vehicles can be intense. Here is how to get home safely and reliably after a night out.
1. Pre-Book Before You Go Out
The single best thing you can do is book your return taxi before you leave home. Lock in the time, lock in the price, and spend the evening without worrying about getting home. Smooth Cabs can take bookings up to several days in advance.
2. Never Get Into an Unlicenced Vehicle
Unlicenced drivers (often called "pirates") target busy town centres at night, offering rides to people who cannot find a cab. These vehicles are uninsured for passenger hire. Always check for a BCP Council licence plate on the rear of the vehicle before you get in.
If someone approaches you in the street offering a taxi at a nightclub door, walk away. Licenced drivers wait - they do not tout.Smooth Cabs, Bournemouth
3. Use the WhatsApp Option
If you cannot hear on a phone call due to noise, WhatsApp us. We monitor messages around the clock. Send your pick-up address, time and number of passengers and we will confirm your booking in writing.

4. Share Your Location with a Friend
Before getting into any taxi at night share your live location with a trusted friend or family member and note the vehicle registration. This applies even with a legitimate licenced operator - it is simply good practice.
5. Book for the Whole Group
If you are out with a group book one MPV rather than multiple separate cabs. It is often cheaper, everyone travels together, and you only need to co-ordinate one pick-up point. Our vehicles carry up to 8 passengers.
